Prospect at Scribner's

Absolutely delicious food, I had the beetroot risotto. The view is amazing and our waiter was so nice! They also let us bring our dog and even had some treats for him, we struggled finding a restaurant for dinner today and were so happy we were able to bring him here. Would definitely come here again!

I loved this restaurant so much, I ended up going three times during my recent stay at Scribner's Catskill Lodge. Our brunch and two dinners were excellent, and the servers were so friendly. The backdrop of the mountains at sunset also enhanced the setting. I knew we were in for a real treat when we started with just bread and butter trio. I think I'll be dreaming of the al pastor butter and the tomato one. Ridiculously tasty. Our dinner entrees made for some of the best meals we've ever had — no joke. I had the fish of the day — sea bass — and was impressed by the presentation and the fresh flavor of each bite. I also sampled the citrus brine chicken my husband ordered and liked it so much, I ordered it the next night when we returned for dinner. For the second night, my husband ordered the burger, and he said it really hit the spot. We also loved the cocktails (the maple old fashioned rocked) and the beer selection. Brunch was great too when I stopped in for a quick bite one afternoon. The breakfast sandwich (bacon, egg and cheese on brioche) and fruit bowl was everything I could have asked for. I can't wait to come back to try one of the toasts or the french toast soon.

From the moment we arrived, everything about this restaurant exceeded expectations. The setting is absolutely stunning — panoramic mountain views that create a peaceful atmosphere. The service was impeccable: warm, attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. The specialty cocktail was smooth, refreshing and full of flavor. Each dish was thoughtfully crafted, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavor. You can tell that fresh, high-quality ingredients are a priority. It was truly a memorable experience.

I've been summering in Hunter for over 30 years, but this was my first dinner at the Prospect Restaurant. What an amazing experience. Our local friends invited us to join them here on Friday night of Memorial Day weekend. We had an early dinner reservation and managed to get an entire room to ourselves for the first part of our meal due to the 5pm reservation. Our waitress was very friendly, went over the specials for the night. We had a very enjoyable and delicious meal which consisted of a shared appetizer of Trout Rillette and then each of us had something different for dinner: burger, pork, duck and risotto. I had the beet risotto which had a gorgeous presentation and tasted amazing! The other dishes also had a beautiful presentation and everyone was happy with their choices. We also enjoyed some cocktails, beer and wine. Can't wait to return.

Excellent food made with super fresh ingredients. The summer salad was amazing and the pork chop was delicious. The chocolate souffle was the best one I've had of its kind. Highly recommend.

The dining experience at Scribner’s on Prospect St was exceptional! The burger was perfectly cooked to a juicy medium-rare, complemented by rich, candied bacon that added the perfect touch of sweetness. The fish dish featured a beautifully prepared bass, served in a delicate sauce with roe and beurre blanc, enhancing its fresh, buttery flavor. The beet dishes were a standout as well, with a vibrant citrus preparation and a fragrant rose-infused variation that were both uniquely delicious. But above all, the highlight of the evening was the stunning view, making the meal even more unforgettable.

Beautiful bar, restaurant had lit candles, food was good! Mountain Views! Nice vibe!
